DoSChem offers 21 exciting PhD projects with various starting times covering all chemical sciences.Â
If you have completed or are in the process of completing your diploma or master’s degree (or an equivalent) in:
Chemistry
Chemical or Materials Engineering
Computational Science
Physics
Biochemistry
Biology/Molecular Biology
Food Chemistry/Â Nutritional Sciences
Pharmacology/Pharmaceutical Sciences
Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs): DoSChem is open to all early stage researchers of any nationality, who have not yet been awarded a doctoral degree in chemical sciences. The applicant needs to hold a master‘s degree or its equivalent in Chemistry or in another relevant discipline that qualifies the applicant to embark on a doctorate.
All applicants shall complete their master degree prior the anticipated position appointment. The degree certificate must be available before being accepted into the doctoral program.
The DoSChem program language is English; therefore, written and oral English proficiency is expected and essential. Formal proof of competence in English is not required. If invited for interviews the DoSChem selection committee will evaluate the applicant’s English skills.

Please submit only ONE APPLICATION (with one RTCHEM number) where you can specify up to 3 projects. Multiple applications will be not considered! If you don't have any specific project-related scientific questions, please do not contact supervisors for the application related matters.
Please submit the following documents in English as a SINGLE PDF document.
A Strong Motivation letter explaining why you apply to DoSChem and addressing your motivation and qualifications. Clearly indicate your desired research area and provide a prioritized list of DoSChem principal investigators (choices 1-3 for job descriptions posted) that you wish to work with (max. 1 page).
Curriculum vitae (CV) indicating your educational path including timeline and academic degrees, addressing your technical proficiency, past/ongoing projects you were scientifically involved in along with your publication list and major achievement (if applicable).
Copies of Bachelor and Master degree certificates in German or in certified English translation in addition to their original language. Self-translated transcripts of your certificates will not be recognized (including CREDIT TRANSCRIPTS!).
Contact information of two referees, who have PREVIOUSLY SUPERVISED you in your past research projects (e.g. Master thesis) and are willing to provide recommendation letters upon request by DoSChem.
