The Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) – High-Level Graduate Program at Jiangsu University is a fully-funded initiative designed to recruit exceptional international talent for postgraduate studies. Nationality: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health.
Academic Qualifications:
Master’s Applicants: Must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
Doctoral Applicants: Must hold a master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
Academic Merit: Candidates must demonstrate excellent academic performance and strong research capabilities.
Language Proficiency:
Chinese-taught programs: Minimum HSK Level 4 or 5 (depending on the major).
English-taught programs: Minimum IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 80, or a certificate of English proficiency from the previous university.

CSC Application Form: The first page of the completed form from the CSC website.
Passport: A clear copy of your passport's main photo page.
Degree Certificate: A notarized copy of your highest degree certificate.
Transcripts: Notarized copies of your academic transcripts.
Language Certificate: A valid HSK, IELTS, or TOEFL certificate, depending on your program's language of instruction.
Research Proposal: A detailed study or research plan.
Recommendation Letters: Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors.
Non-Criminal Record: A valid certificate of non-criminal record from your local public security authority.
Physical Examination Form: A copy of the "FOREIGNER PHYSICAL EXAMINATION FORM" (valid for 6 months).

Option 1 — Apply via Embassy (CSC Type A)
- Apply at Chinese Embassy / Consulate in your country
- Choose Jiangsu University as preferred host
- After embassy selection → apply online for admission at JSU portal
- Then register on CSC platform

Option 2: Applying for the CSC Scholarship through Jiangsu University (Category B) is a two-part process.

Step 1: Apply to Jiangsu University
- Visit the Jiangsu University Online Application System.
- Complete the university's online application as a self-funded student.
- Upload all the required documents (see list below) to the JSU portal.
- Await the qualification selection from JSU. If successful, you will receive an admission letter.
Step 2: Apply to the CSC System
- Visit the CSC "Study in China" website.
- Create an account and log in.
- Select Program Category "Type B".
- Enter the Jiangsu University Agency Number: 10299.
- Complete the CSC online application, upload the required supporting documents (including your JSU admission letter if received), and submit.
- Download and print the completed CSC Application Form.

Tuition Waiver: Exempts you from all tuition and registration fees.
Free Accommodation: Provides free accommodation in an on-campus university dormitory.
Monthly Living Allowance: A stipend is provided monthly at the following rates:
- Undergraduate Students: 2,500 CNY per month
- Master's Students: 3,000 CNY per month
- Doctoral Students: 3,500 CNY per month
Comprehensive Medical Insurance: Covers you for the duration of your studies.

Q: What is the application deadline?A: For the Category B (direct university application), the deadline is typically around November 30th (e.g., Nov 30th, 2025 for the 2026 intake). Deadlines for Category A (Embassy) vary, so you must contact your local Chinese embassy.

Q: I am already a student at a Chinese university. Can I apply?A: No. The Chinese Government Scholarship is open to new students only.

Q: What happens if I am admitted to JSU but do not win the CSC scholarship?A: You will still be considered for other university-level scholarships, such as the JSU Presidential Scholarship. For PhD candidates, this scholarship may cover tuition and campus accommodation.

Q: When will I find out if I received the scholarship?A: CSC scholarship candidates are typically selected by the beginning of May. The university's admission office will contact successful applicants. Visa application documents (JW201) are usually sent in June or July.

Q: Do I need to learn Chinese for my program?A: All undergraduate programs are taught in Chinese. If you have no command of Chinese, you will be required to take 1-2 years of preparatory Chinese language courses before starting your major.
