DUT hosts several scholarship pathways for international postgraduate students.
The Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) is the most comprehensive: it covers full tuition, provides on-campus accommodation, and offers a monthly living stipend for the standard degree period.

In addition to CGS, DUT also offers the Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship and the DUT International Student Scholarship, as well as a small number of enterprise / joint-funded awards linked to specific laboratories and research groups.

Funding scope, eligibility conditions and competition levels differ across programs — therefore, applicants are encouraged to first identify the intended major / supervisor, then select the scholarship category that best matches their academic profile and language background.

Non-Chinese citizens in good health
Master applicants: valid Bachelor’s degree; normally < 35 years old
PhD applicants: valid Master’s degree; normally < 40 years old
Meets language prerequisites of the intended programme:
- Chinese-taught: HSK 4 (science/engineering/econ/management) or HSK 5 (humanities/foreign languages)
- English-taught: TOEFL ≥ 80 / IELTS ≥ 5.5 / Duolingo ≥ 100
- Proof of English-medium degree or official English-speaking nationality
Able to obtain valid No-Criminal-Record documentation
Applicants currently in China must additionally provide legal residence/visa page scan

CSC Online Application Form (printed + signed)
DUT Online Application Form
Degree certificates (highest degree; notarized if necessary)
Complete academic transcripts (from undergraduate onwards)
Study / research proposal ≥ 1,000 words, signed by intended DUT supervisor
Two recommendation letters (professor or associate professor level)
Foreigner Physical Examination Form
Blood Test Report (HIV / Syphilis / HBsAg / HCV)
Passport photocopy (photo page + 1 blank visa page)
Language certificates (HSK / TOEFL / IELTS / Duolingo – as applicable)
No-Criminal-Record Certificate (or signed commitment if not yet available)
Optional supporting evidence (acceptance letter, employment certificate, visa for those in China)

Step 1: CSC online application
Submit in the CSC system and select DUT (Agency Number: 10141).
Print & sign the final submission page.

Step: DUT online application
Register and submit all required materials at the DUT International Student Application Portal and select “Scholarship”.

If multiple scholarship categories are applied for, upload all corresponding forms in the DUT system under “Scholarship Application Form”.

1) Can I change major after arrival?
Not in principle.

2) Can the scholarship duration be extended?
Generally no; the scholarship covers only the official period assigned at admission.

3) Is an acceptance letter mandatory?
Optional. Recommended but not required.

4) Is English-taught study available?
Yes, but only for specific majors/directories published by DUT each admission cycle.

5) Can currently employed applicants apply?
Yes. A work-unit certificate can be uploaded.

6) What if I don’t have the No-Criminal Certificate in time?
A commitment letter may be accepted temporarily.

7) If HSK is not ready, can I still apply?
The department may evaluate language via interview or written test, but HSK is normally expected for Chinese-medium enrolment.

8) When are admission results released?
Normally mid-summer. Enrollment occurs in autumn semester.

9) Are there other scholarships available at DUT besides the Chinese Government Scholarship?
Yes. DUT also participates in other scholarship schemes. Examples include:

Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship
DUT International Student Scholarship (university-funded)
Enterprise-funded / Joint-funded scholarships (varies by faculty / project)

Each of these has its own eligibility rules, funding level, and application procedures. Applicants may check the DUT International Students Office website for annual availability and specific guidance.
