The Study Scholarships for STEM Disciplines aim to support young academics and future professionals from developing and emerging countries. This program offers them the opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree in STEM fields such as mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and engineering at German universities. The scholarship intends to enhance the qualifications and employability of the recipients by enabling them to continue their academic and professional careers in innovation-driven fields.

This program is particularly targeted at high-achieving students from developing and emerging countries. Successful applicants will be able to study full-time, on-campus, in a tuition-free Master’s degree program at a state or state-recognized university in Germany. The scholarship covers a range of benefits, including monthly stipends, health insurance, and travel allowances, among others.

Applicants must be citizens of developing or emerging countries.
A completed undergraduate degree recognized in Germany is required.
The Master's program applied for must be in the STEM fields and tuition-free.
Applicants should not have a previously obtained Master's degree.
Proof of proficiency in the language of instruction (German or English) is required. Accepted certificates include:
- German: TestDaF, DSH, DSD, Goethe-Zertifikat, Österreichisches Sprachdiplom, telc Deutsch, onSET Deutsch.
- English: Cambridge English, Cambridge Business, IELTS, ISE, TOEFL iBT, TOEFL Essentials, TOEIC, PTE Academic, onSET English.

Full CV in tabular form (max. 3 pages)
Letter of motivation (1-3 pages)
Letter of admission to the Master’s program in Germany (if available)
Form 'Information about your preferred master programmes'
Transcript of records and all university degree certificates
Language proficiency certificate (at least B1)
One recent letter of recommendation from a university teacher
Passport/national ID and personal data page
Additional documents such as certificates of employment, proof of extracurricular engagement, etc.
Translations of documents if not in German or English

Online Registration: Register on the DAAD portal during the application period.
Submit Application: Complete the online application form and submit all required documents via the DAAD portal by the specified deadline.
Request Recommendation Form: Generate the recommendation form through the DAAD portal, and have it completed by a university teacher. Upload the completed form to the portal.
Selection Process: Applications will be reviewed, and shortlisted candidates will be invited for a digital interview with a selection committee.

Monthly Stipend: 934 euros per month
Health, Accident, and Personal Liability Insurance Coverage
Travel Allowance: Provided
Annual Study Allowance: 460 euros
Additional Benefits: Rent subsidy, family allowance, subsidy for disability-related costs, carbon offset reimbursement for air travel, and reimbursement for language course fees (if applicable)
Language Courses: Online language course, German language course in Germany, and TestDaF or DSH test reimbursement
