The Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarship for the next academic session is now open for applications, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This prestigious scholarship offers international students the opportunity to pursue higher education in Brunei at various levels, including Diploma, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate Master’s Degree programs. It aims to promote academic excellence and cultural exchange, supporting scholars to achieve their educational and professional aspirations.

Recipients of the scholarship can study at leading institutions in Brunei, including Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), and Politeknik Brunei (PB). With the academic year set to begin in July/August each year, the program offers a comprehensive educational experience in a vibrant and culturally rich environment.

Nationality
- Open to applicants who are citizens of ASEAN, Commonwealth, and OIC member countries.
- Applicants must not hold Brunei Darussalam citizenship.
Age Requirements
- Undergraduate and Diploma applicants: Must be between 18 and 25 years old by July 31, 2025.
- Postgraduate applicants: Must not exceed 35 years old by July 31, 2025.
Health Status
- Candidates must be in good health and fit to undertake the scholarship.
Educational Qualifications
- Applicants must meet the admission requirements for the programs offered by the chosen institution.
Language Proficiency
- Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the English language, with evidence such as IELTS or TOEFL scores, where applicable.
Other Requirements
- Applicants must not be recipients of any other scholarship or financial aid during the application and tenure of this scholarship.

Interview and Language Test
- Applicants may be required to attend an interview and/or sit for a written test in English, Malay, or Arabic, depending on program requirements.
Final Decision
- The government reserves the right to reject applications, and decisions are final. No appeals or disputes will be entertained.
Application Process
- Complete the BDGS online application form.
- Applicants to UBD or UTB must also apply through their respective online portals

Program Details
- Review program offerings at participating institutions before applying.

Tuition and Fees
- Full exemption from tuition fees, including acceptance, examination, registration, and orientation fees for the duration of the program.
Travel
- Economy class air tickets:To Brunei from the recipient's country of origin/domicile before the course begins.
- From Brunei to the recipient's country of origin/domicile after course completion.
Allowances
- Monthly personal allowance: BND$500.00.
- Monthly meals allowance: BND$150.00.
- Annual book allowance: BND$600.00.
Accommodation
- Provided at the residential college of the university/polytechnic.
Baggage Allowance (upon course completion)
- BND$250.00 for shipment to a country within ASEAN.
- BND$500.00 for shipment to a country outside ASEAN.
