The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) offers scholarships to enhance the internationalization of the university, establish connections with top-notch domestic and foreign scientific and educational resources, and create a critical platform for collaboration and exchange.

To provide a supportive environment for study and research, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) launched the USTC Scholarships, offering comprehensive and competitive scholarships to international students and scholars. USTC's fast and steady growth in international education is due to its world-class research and teaching mechanisms. The university is renowned for its advanced science and engineering programs, as well as its unique management and tailored humanities programs. According to influential university rankings, such as THE, QS, and Nature Index, USTC ranks among the best universities in China. In 2020, it was named the top Chinese university by Nature Publishing Index China and ranked 3rd in China's mainland (80th in the world) by Times Higher Education. Today, over 30,000 USTC alumni work globally, forming a strong international network in scientific innovation, politics, business, and industries.

The following are the eligibility requirements for applicants:

Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals and be in good health.
Bachelor's degree applicants must have a high school diploma equivalent to a high school diploma in China, as well as an HSK5 certificate. They must also be under 30 years old by September 1st, 2024.
Master's degree applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and be under 35 years old by September 1st, 2024.
Doctoral degree applicants must have a Master's degree and be under 40 years old by September 1st, 2024.
Applicants who are set to graduate in 2024 must provide a pre-graduation certificate to confirm they will complete their studies and obtain their degree by July of 2024.

To apply for USTC Scholarships, it is necessary to submit the following documents:

An online application form for the USTC Scholarship, completed with signature and a recent photograph.
A photocopy of the candidate's passport.
A study or research proposal, with a minimum length of 800 words.
An updated curriculum vitae.
Two letters of recommendation from referees.
A photocopy of the foreigner physical examination form.
A photocopy of the degree certificate and academic transcript for both the bachelor's and master's degrees (if applicable).
Evidence of language proficiency.
