The Harbin Institute of Technology, established in 1920, is a world-renowned institution known for its focus on science, engineering, and research. Eligibility :

To be eligible for the Chinese Government Scholarship: Chinese University Program at Harbin Institute of Technology, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health, both mentally and physically.

  • Hold a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35 when applying for a master's degree program.

  • Hold a master's degree and be under the age of 40 when applying for a doctoral degree program.

  • Have achieved a minimum Chinese proficiency level of HSK Level 4 for any Chinese-taught master's or doctoral degree program.

  • Meet the minimum academic and language proficiency requirements set by HIT for the program of interest.

To apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship: Chinese University Program at Harbin Institute of Technology, applicants must submit the following application documents:

  • Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship: The CSC Online Application System is available at http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/. The scholarship type is B, and the university code is 10213.

  • A clear, legible copy of the passport's home page, which must be valid until September 2023.

  • The highest diploma and academic transcripts from the undergraduate program onwards, which must be notarized by the official notary office in English or Chinese.

  • Language qualification certificates:
    Chinese-taught programs:Master's degree: HSK Level-4 report or higher (valid for two years)
    Doctoral degree: HSK Level-4 report or higher (valid for two years)

    English-taught programs (for non-English native speakers):IELTS at least 6.0, TOEFL at least 80 or other equivalent English language proficiency certificates.

  • A study plan (more than 1,000 words), which must be approved and signed by the applicant's Chinese supervisor if they're applying for a doctoral degree program. A template can be downloaded at http://studyathit.hit.edu.cn/post/index/459 .

  • Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors

  • A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid within six months prior to the submission date). The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the form, and it should be signed by the attending physician, have the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicant.

  • Bank receipt of the application fee: USD 60 or CNY 400

  • Non-criminal record report (issued within 6 months prior to the submission date)

  • Acceptance letter(Not Required). but if you had contact HIT’s professors ahead of submission.

How to apply :

To apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship: Chinese University Program at Harbin Institute of Technology, applicants must follow these two steps:

Step 1: Register at http://www.campuschina.org and choose program Type B, and application Code is 10213 . Gather all necessary application documents, including academic transcripts, test scores, and proof of Chinese language proficiency, and submit them to StudyatHIT@hit.edu.cn before the application deadline.

Step 2: Wait for a confirmation email from the Office of International Students Admission of HIT. It's important to note that the admission officer will follow-up on the application via email. It is important to frequently check the email and to be patient if a response is delayed due to a high number of emails, an average response time is 24 hours.

The Scholarship Benefits:

The Chinese Government Scholarship: Chinese University Program at Harbin Institute of Technology covers a range of expenses to support international students during their studies. These include:

  • Tuition fees

  • University dormitory accommodation

  • Monthly stipend for living expenses:Master's degree students: CNY 3,000 per month
    Doctoral degree students: CNY 3,500 per month

  • Comprehensive medical insurance: CNY 800 per year

It's important to note that the stipend will not be issued before the arrival at the university, you are expected to have sufficient funds to cover the cost of traveling and living expenses before arrival.
