Eligibility :
  • Nationality: Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health.

  • Academic Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s:
    Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
    Master’s: Must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
    PhD: Must hold a master’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Age Limits: Generally under 25 for undergraduate, under 35 for master's, and under 40 for doctoral applicants.

  • Language Proficiency:
    Chinese-taught:
    Minimum HSK Level 4 (Level 5 preferred for some majors).
    English-taught: Minimum IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 80 (Requirements waived for native speakers).

  • Academic Record: Strong academic performance and research potential in the chosen field.

Required documents :
  • Scanned copy of the passport home page.

  • Notarized highest diploma and academic transcripts (English or Chinese).

  • A Study Plan or Research Proposal (minimum 800 words).

  • Two Recommendation Letters from professors or associate professors.

  • Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid for 6 months).

  • Non-criminal record certificate.

  • Language proficiency certificate (HSK or English test scores).

  • Provisional Acceptance Letter from an HZAU supervisor (highly recommended for postgraduates).

How to apply :
  • CSC Portal Application: Visit the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) Information System and create an account. Select Program Type B and enter the HZAU Agency Number: 10504. Complete the form, upload documents, and submit to get your CSC Application Form.

  • HZAU Portal Application: Create an account on the Huazhong Agricultural University International Student Service System. Fill in the required data and upload all documents, including the downloaded CSC application form.

  • Document Review: The university will conduct a preliminary review of all digital files. Ensure all scans are clear and notarized where required.

  • Academic Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be contacted via email for an online interview or academic assessment by the relevant department.

  • Final Results: Successful applicants will be notified through the portal. The university will then mail the official Admission Notice and JW201/JW202 visa forms.
