Eligibility :
  • Nationality and Conduct: 

    • Must be non-Chinese citizens with excellent conduct, no criminal records, and good health.

  • Educational Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree Applicants: Should hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and be aged 18 to 35.

    • Doctoral Degree Applicants: Should hold a master’s degree or its equivalent and be aged 18 to 40.

  • Language Proficiency

    • For Chinese-taught programs: A minimum score of 260 in HSK4 for non-medical programs and 200 for medical programs is required.

    • For English-taught programs: A minimum IELTS score of 6 or TOEFL score of 85 is mandatory.
      Applicants who cannot meet the Chinese language requirement must complete a one-year preparatory Chinese language course and pass the relevant exams.

    • Exemptions apply to applicants meeting specific linguistic conditions (e.g., previous education in the respective language).

  • Academic and Research Capabilities

    • Postgraduate applicants must demonstrate a strong academic background and innovative research potential.

  • Program-Specific Requirements

    • Certain programs may have additional requirements, and applicants must ensure they meet these criteria before applying.

  • Passport: A valid copy of the applicant's passport.

  • Graduation Certificate: Highest graduation certificate obtained by the applicant.

  • Transcript: Academic transcript of the highest diploma.

  • Non-Criminal Record: An official document proving the applicant has no criminal record.

  • Physical Examination Record: A medical record indicating the applicant is in good health.

  • Language Proficiency Transcript: Proof of language competence, such as HSK, IELTS, or TOEFL scores.

  • Self-Introduction Video: A brief video introducing the applicant.

  • Statement of Scholarship Status: A declaration confirming the applicant is not receiving any other scholarships.

  • Recommendation Letters: Two letters of recommendation from professors or academic advisors.

  • Study Plan: A detailed study plan outlining the applicant’s goals and research interests.

  • Acceptance Letter: A letter of acceptance from a supervisor at Central South University.

  • Additional Materials (Optional): Published essays, a CV, or other supporting documents. Applicants submitting these materials will be given preference if other conditions are equal.

How to apply :
  • Step 1: Online Application

    • Log in to the School of International Education system and complete the application form with accurate details.

    • Submit the application online.

  • Step 2: Initial Review and Application Fee Payment

    • The School of International Education will conduct an initial review to assess your identity, language proficiency, physical and mental health, and other eligibility criteria.

    • If you pass the initial review, pay the application fee of CNY 500 via the CSU unified payment platform using WeChat, Alipay, or UnionPay, as detailed in the email instructions.

    • Ensure payment is completed within two weeks, or your application cannot proceed further.

    • Applicants who fail the initial review are not required to pay the application fee.

  • Step 3: Academic Review

    • The relevant academic departments will conduct a comprehensive academic review to evaluate your educational background, research abilities, and innovative potential.

  • Step 4: Result Release

    • The final admission results will be communicated via an admission email.

    • Note: The final financial support will be detailed in the Admission Notice you receive.

The Scholarship Benefits:
  • Full Scholarship Benefits:

    • Full Tuition Fee: The scholarship covers 100% of the tuition fees for the entire duration of the program.

    • Accommodation: Free on-campus accommodation is provided to recipients.

    • Comprehensive Medical Insurance: Covers medical expenses during the study period in China.

    • Monthly Stipend: Master’s students receive CNY 3,000 per month. Doctoral students receive CNY 3,500 per month.

  • Partial Scholarship Benefits:

    • Full Tuition Fee: Covers 100% of the tuition fees.

    • Accommodation: Free on-campus accommodation is provided.

    • Comprehensive Medical Insurance: Includes coverage for healthcare services throughout the study duration.
