The DAAD In-Region Scholarships for Postgraduate Studies for Yemenis in Jordan are designed to foster strong, internationally oriented higher education systems in Jordan, with a focus on sustainable development. These scholarships support Yemeni graduates who wish to pursue a Master’s degree (thesis track) at selected Jordanian universities. The program aims to train future academic and professional leaders who will contribute to solving development-related problems in Yemen and strengthen education and research in their home country. The initiative is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and targets university staff and public sector professionals, with special encouragement for female applicants, refugees, and candidates from less privileged regions.
Eligibility :
Applicants must be nationals or permanent residents of Yemen.
Must have successfully completed a four-year university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) with excellent results.
The last university degree should have been completed no more than six years ago at the time of application.
Must demonstrate strong motivation and commitment.
Must have thorough knowledge of the language of instruction (English and/or Arabic), with specific language test requirements depending on the program (IELTS or TOEFL)[.
Should generally be a staff member of a public university, a candidate considered for teaching or research staff recruitment, or from the public sector.
Female applicants, refugees with recognized refugee status, and candidates from less privileged regions are especially encouraged to apply.
Applicants who have already received a DAAD Master’s scholarship are not eligible for further Master’s funding.

Letter of motivation (1–3 pages).
Information about preferred Master’s programs.
Letter of admission from the host university (can be submitted later if not available at the time of application)., Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid (JUST) or German Jordanian University, Amman (GJU)
Certified copies of university degree certificates and transcripts.
School-leaving certificate.
Proof of English language proficiency (IELTS or TOEFL, depending on the program).
One recent recommendation letter from a university teacher.
Optional: Proof of internships, employment, or a list of publications.

The Scholarship Benefits:
Full coverage of tuition fees for the Master’s thesis track.
Monthly stipend of 570 EUR for living expenses.
Travel allowance of 530 EUR at the beginning and end of the scholarship.
Study and research allowance of 460 EUR.
Printing allowance of 400 EUR.
Family allowance for spouses (228 EUR/month) upon request.
Opportunity to apply for short-term research stays in Germany (3–6 months).
Possible invitation to participate in summer schools in Germany.
Scholarship duration is generally two years, subject to satisfactory academic progress
