More details :

The Danish Government Scholarships are fully funded or partially funded opportunities offered by the Government of Denmark to attract highly talented non-EU/EEA international students to study at Danish universities. These scholarships are mainly provided for Master’s degree programmes, though some universities may offer them for other levels as well.

Each year, Denmark grants a limited number of these scholarships to help outstanding students cover the high tuition fees for non-EU/EEA citizens and, in some cases, to provide additional support for living expenses. The scheme is administered directly by Danish universities, and recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit and potential.

At Darrab Education, we help students explore and apply for opportunities like the Danish Government Scholarships, as well as other fully funded programs, fellowships, internships, PhD and postdoctoral positions, and online learning resources — so you can make informed decisions and access world-class education.

Eligibility :
  • Must be a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country.

  • Must be admitted to a full-degree program at a Danish university (typically Master’s).

  • Must have a valid temporary residence permit in Denmark for educational purposes.

  • Must meet the university’s academic requirements and admission criteria (including English proficiency, relevant undergraduate degree, and strong grades).

  • Applicants are usually not eligible if they have rights similar to Danish citizens (e.g., permanent residence, family reunification under EU law).

Required documents :
  • Academic transcripts from your previous degree(s).

  • Bachelor’s degree certificate or equivalent qualification.

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) including academic and professional achievements.

  • Proof of English language proficiency (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, or accepted alternatives).

  • Motivation letter explaining your study goals and why you chose Denmark.

  • Recommendation letters (varies by university but often requested).

  • Copy of passport for identification.

  • Any other specific documents required by the chosen university or program.

How to apply :
  • Choose a Danish university and program: Start by selecting a Master’s program or other eligible degree at a Danish university.

  • Apply for admission: Submit a full, complete application to your chosen program before the university’s application deadline.

  • Automatic consideration: Most universities automatically consider non-EU/EEA applicants for the Danish Government Scholarship — no separate scholarship form is required.

  • Selection process: Universities select candidates based on academic performance, motivation, and overall potential.

  • Scholarship offer: If awarded, you will be notified together with your admission decision or shortly after.

  • Confirm acceptance: Accept the scholarship and your admission offer within the time frame given by the university.

The Scholarship Benefits:
  • Full or partial tuition fee waiver: Covers the high tuition fees for non-EU/EEA students.

  • Monthly living allowance: Some universities also provide a monthly stipend to help cover living costs.

  • Duration: Typically covers the entire length of the Master’s program (usually 2 years).

  • Access to top-ranked universities: Study in one of Europe’s most innovative education systems with world-class facilities.

  • Career development: Danish degrees are internationally recognized and offer strong job market connections.
