The FutureData4EU PhD program aims to train a new generation of researchers with interdisciplinary and transferable skills, enabling them to work with both academic and business organizations. Funded by the Horizon Europe program under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, this 60-month project involves multiple universities in Emilia-Romagna, including the University of Bologna. The program offers innovative training with a focus on international, inter-sectoral, and interdisciplinary approaches, emphasizing Big Data management across various domains like climate simulations, health, mobility, cultural heritage, and digital infrastructures.

Eligibility :
General Requirements:

  1. Mobility: Must not have resided or conducted main activities in Italy for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the application deadline (June 29th, 2021 - June 28th, 2024).

  2. Qualifications: Must possess a second-cycle academic qualification (e.g., two-year master’s degree, AFAM qualification) recognized as equivalent and giving access to PhD studies in the country of issuance. Foreign qualifications must have documents certifying authenticity and equivalence by January 7, 2025.

  3. Doctoral Candidate Stage: Must not already hold a doctoral degree.

How to apply :

  •  Applications may only be submitted through the dedicated procedure available at (online platform Studenti Online). 

  • The application deadline is June 28th, 2024, at 2:00 PM (CEST, Italian time). In order to be accepted, the application must be: - Sent before the deadline via the online submission procedure by accessing at Studenti Online. 

  • All annexes must be uploaded in pdf format. - Accompanied by all the required documentation (3.2 Documents to be attached to the application). 

  • Failing to meet any of the requirements of Art. 2 Admission requirements will result in the exclusion of the candidate, at any time during the selection procedure or upon signing the contract. 

  • Applications submitted in any way other than the above will not be considered.

The Scholarship Benefits:

  • Fully funded positions with a gross annual salary of €27,238.83.

  • Includes living and mobility allowances.
