Hydrogen technologies will be part of the solution to mitigate climate change

Hydrogen technologies can play a key role in reducing polluted emissions by mid-century, and be part of the mosaic of solutions needed to mitigate climate change. In particular, green hydrogen can be the link between renewable sources and end uses to achieve decarbonisation objectives at different levels (energy conversion, industrial use, mobility)

Eligibility :

In order to be eligible for the HySET Erasmus Mundus Joint Master, students must hold a Bachelor Degree (at least 180 credits) in one of the following disciplines (or equivalent):

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Energy Engineering

  • Chemical Engineering / Chemistry

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Aeronautical Engineering

  • Physics

  • Industrial Engineering

English language proficiency

The minimum requirements are:

  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 90 points on the internet-based test,

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing Service) with a minimum overall band score of 6.5.

Exemption only for graduates who are nationals from English-speaking countries AND who have been taught and evaluated in English. See the list of English-speaking countries below.

Required documents :
  • a CV in pdf created with Europass (https://europa.eu/europass/en/create-europass-cv)

  • a motivation letter (max 1 page, font 11pt)

  • a certified copy of your degree and transcripts (from the Bachelor’s level). If not graduated at the application time (which is perfectly fine), proof of your registration in an education program and the transcripts you already have are sufficient.

  • two reference letters: they will have to be uploaded by your referees so don’t ask them to give you the letters. They are going to receive an email (with a link to the application platform). The referees can be work managers or teachers.

  • a self-introduction video of 2 to 3 minutes

  • a copy of your ID card or passport

  • a copy of your English test certificate

  • an ID or CV photo

  • Choose of one of the proposed entry points

How to apply :

Here are some tips to prepare a successful application. Those tips will be updated regularly according to your questions and feedback.

  • The application can be completed progressively and submitted far before the deadline. Even after submission, any field or document can be modified (except for the contact information of your referees – see below). Our advice is to prevent any last-minute rush (or technical issue) by submitting your application as soon as possible.

  • The letter of motivation (addressed to the HySET program chair, Prof. Santarelli) is a one-page letter in font 11pt stating your motivations to join the program but also the reasons why the Admission Board should select your application.

  • A short video (2-3 min) where the applicant introduces himself or herself and explains his or her goals and motivation for applying to HySET. Do not hesitate to be creative but, first of all, make sure that we can hear you properly. You will be asked to share this video via a link on the platform of your choice (dropbox, onedrive, googledrive), together the other required documents. Mind the access rights: the file has to be available with no connection request up to the end of March. Read more
