The Iraqi ministry of higher education and scientific research/ the department of scholarships& cultural relations is delighted to announce the launch of study and research scholarships scheme funded by the relevant host Iraqi universities. The scholarships target applicants from all over the world who wish to pursue their undergraduate and graduate studies at Iraqi academic institutions, and also the researchers who wish to conduct their research activities in Iraq. 

Eligibility :

To be eligible for the study program, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:


1. Nationality and Origin

   - Applicants must be foreigners or Arabs of non-Iraqi parentage, exclusively from foreign or non-Iraqi Arab origins.

   - Neither the applicant nor their parents should hold Iraqi origin and must have acquired non-Iraqi nationality.


2. Educational Background:

   - Possession of a non-Iraqi high school certificate, whether Arab or foreign.


3. Prior Academic Enrollment:

   - Applicants must not have previously secured an academic seat in any Iraqi public universities or private colleges and universities through approved admission channels.

   - Not applying to other private or public admission programs in public universities or private colleges and universities.


4. Exclusion Clause:

   - Students who obtained an academic seat within the "Study in Iraq program" are not eligible for privileges such as appointment in Iraqi ministries or any other non-educational privileges.


Terms and Conditions for Admission:


 A) Free Tuition Scholarships:

Undergraduate Study (Diploma and Bachelor):

- Applicants must meet the minimum average for admission to their desired university and college, based on specified rates according to the chosen field of study.

  - Medical group: General medicine (85%), dentistry and pharmacy (75%).

  - Engineering and nursing group: Specializations (65%).

  - Other scientific and humanities specializations (60%).

  

Postgraduate Study (Higher Diploma, Master, and Doctorate):

- Minimum average requirements for admission:

  - Master's degree or higher diploma (65%).

  - Doctorate degree (75%).

- Age limit: Not exceeding 40 years for a master's degree or its equivalent, and 45 years for a doctoral degree.


 B) Half-Free Tuition Scholarships:

Undergraduate Study (Diploma and Bachelor):

- Applicants must meet the minimum average for admission to their desired university and college, based on specified rates according to the chosen field of study.

  - Medical group: General medicine (75%), dentistry and pharmacy (70%).

  - Engineering and nursing group: Specializations (60%).

  - Other scientific and humanities specializations without average condition.

- Age limit: Not exceeding 33 years.

- Accepted students have the option to choose evening study if available.


Postgraduate Study (Higher Diploma, Master, and Doctorate):

- Minimum average requirements for admission:

  - Master's degree or higher diploma (60%).

  - Doctorate degree (70%).

- Exclusion from age requirement for applicants.

Required documents :
  •  Submit all original and certified documents referred to above with color copies

  •  2 personal photos

  • International health certificate

  • Non-Iraqi high school certificate (foreign or Arab) to apply for a diploma or bachelor's degree.

  •  Bachelor's degree to apply for a higher diploma or master's degree.

  •  Master's degree or its equivalent to apply for a doctoral degree.

  • The above-mentioned certificates must be (coloured) translated (Arabic or English) and duly certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country granting the certificate and by the Iraqi embassy in that country. In the event that there is no Iraqi embassy in the applicant's country of origin or in neighboring countries, the certification shall be done by the embassy of his or her existing country in Baghdad.

  • The passport is valid for a period not less than two years.

  • One of the documents proving the student's origins with his parents: (the student's birth statement or the student's national identity card or nationality with the mother and father).

  • A written pledge not to submit it to one of the study channels inside Iraq in one of the public universities and private colleges and universities, and pledges that the information stated in the application form is correct.

How to apply :

Follow these steps to complete the application process:


1. Account Creation:

   - Begin by creating an account on the program's website.


2. Activation:

   - Activate your account by clicking on the emailed activation link.


3. Login:

   - Log in to your account using the credentials you provided during registration.


4. Personal Information:

   - Fill out your personal details accurately.


5. Academic Achievement:

   - Provide information about your academic achievements.


6. Document Upload:

   - Upload the required evidentiary documentation, including educational certificates and proof of nationality.


7. Study Application:

   - Apply for the desired study program.


8. University and Channel Selection:

   - Choose the universities and  your preferences. The student has the right to choose only five universities in the electronic form ( three of them for free scholarships, one for half-free tuition fees and one other of them for private expense)


9. Document Submission:

   - Upload any additional required documentation.


10. Form Submission:

    - Submit the completed forms to finalize your application.
