Eligibility :
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics) from an accredited institution
Minimum CGPA:
Master’s track: ≥ 3.0 (standard) or 3.2 (highly competitive)
PhD track: Bachelor’s ≥ 3.5; if coming with a Master’s, CGPA ≥ 3.2
Degrees must be accredited or recognized and attested by UAE MoE (or equivalent for international credentials)
All documents must be in English or accompanied by legal English translations
Strong programming and math background; GRE optional (beneficial)

CV detailing academic background, work experience, research publications, and coding skills
Official Bachelor’s transcript and degree certificate (or expected graduation letter for final-year students)
For PhD applicants: Master’s transcript and certificate or equivalent
Statement of Purpose (approx. 500–1,000 words)
Research Statement (PhD only)
Recommendation letters:
M.Sc.: minimum of two
PhD: minimum of three
Valid English proficiency certificate (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, EmSAT)
Passport copy
Recent photo with a white background
For UAE nationals: Emirates ID, service completion/exemption (if male), and related family documentation
For UAE residents: valid UAE visa and Emirates ID
How to apply :
Apply online through MBZUAI’s graduate portal starting September 1.
Upload all required documents before the priority deadline (typically November 15) or final deadline (around December 15).
Eligible applicants are invited to take an online screening exam covering math and programming fundamentals (highly encouraged).
Selected applicants proceed to a technical interview with admissions committee members.
The Scholarship Benefits:
100% tuition coverage for M.Sc. and PhD (excluding the MAAI program)
Monthly stipends:
PhD: AED 17,500 (international), AED 43,500 (UAE nationals)
M.Sc.: AED 15,500 (international), AED 37,500 (UAE nationals)
Visa sponsorship for non-UAE applicants
Health insurance coverage
Housing support deducted from stipend (approx. AED 7,500/month for on-campus housing)
