OIST PhD Program – Fully Funded Doctoral Research in Japan
More details :
The OIST PhD Program at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) offers a fully funded, interdisciplinary five-year doctoral degree in science, taught entirely in English. Located in Okinawa, Japan, OIST fosters innovation through cross-disciplinary research in fields like neuroscience, marine science, physics, and computational biology.
Enrollment is highly selective, with about 60 PhD students admitted annually to keep student-to-faculty ratios low and encourage personalized mentorship. The program emphasizes flexibility and integration—students explore different research units in their first year before settling into their primary laboratory.
