The Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project is an international competition that offers full scholarships for bachelor’s, master’s, PhD, and postdoctoral studies at top Russian universities. Organized by the Global Universities Association with support from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, it allows winners to gain early admission without entrance exams.
The program covers diverse academic fields such as engineering, computer science, economics, medicine, political science, and more. Eligibility :
Must not hold Russian citizenship.
Must hold (or be completing) the required degree for the chosen level (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D.).
Can apply from any country outside Russia.
Must meet the academic and program requirements for selected universities.
English or Russian proficiency required (depending on program).
Applicants cannot combine this award with another Russian government-funded scholarship.
Required documents :
Valid passport or national ID.
Degree certificate or proof of enrollment (translated if necessary).
Academic transcripts.
Curriculum Vitae (CV) or résumé.
Motivation letter (explaining academic goals and reasons for applying).
Proof of achievements: awards, publications, or research work.
Recommendation letters (optional but encouraged).
How to apply :
Register online on the Open Doors competition portal within the registration period.
Select your subject area (one of many: Applied Math & AI; Biology & Biotechnology; Business & Management; etc.).
Fill out your portfolio: include motivation letter, academic/work achievements, select university priority list (1-6 universities).
Pass through the First Stage (portfolio evaluation) and the Second Stage (online proctored tasks / tests). For doctoral track: interview with prospective supervisors.
If you are selected as a winner or runner-up, you will receive notification and proceed to upload further documents for admission and scholarship enrolment.
Enrol at your selected Russian university and start your programme.
