The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is a prestigious Fulbright exchange initiative that brings accomplished mid-career professionals from around the world to the United States for a transformative 10-month experience. Established in 1978 to honor the late Senator and Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey, this program enhances leadership among international professionals who collaborate to address local and global challenges and foster positive change.

The program offers a unique combination of academic study and professional development at selected U.S. universities, creating lasting connections between American professionals and their international counterparts in fields critical to global development and cooperation.

The program focuses on building expertise in fields of critical importance to advance societal and institutional capacity, promote human rights and freedoms, ensure sustainable environments, and develop thriving communities.

Eligibility :
  • Be a citizen of an eligible country

  • Hold an undergraduate (bachelor's) degree

  • Have a minimum of five years of full-time professional experience

  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and a record of public service

  • Have limited or no prior experience in the United States

  • Possess strong English language skills

  • Be interested in the policy aspects of their field of specialization

Required documents :
  • Transcripts and diplomas for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (with English translation if not in English)

  • English Language Assessment Form (mandatory) and TOEFL or other English test scores (if available)

  • Complete answers to all essay questions in English

  • Copy of current passport or official ID (and for dependents, if applicable)

  • CV or résumé (up to three pages, in English)

  • Two letters of recommendation in English (one from current employer)

  • 30-second video in English (mp4, up to 30MB) explaining your program fit and career goals

  • Prepare all required documents, including transcripts, diplomas, letters of reference, and proof of English proficiency.

  • Create an account and complete the online application form through the official application portal.

  • Answer all essay questions and provide detailed information about your academic and professional background.

  • Upload all supporting documents to the online system.

  • If shortlisted, attend an interview with a selection panel.

  • Await notification regarding nomination and final selection.
