The UK GREAT Scholarships program is a prestigious initiative designed to support international students in pursuing one-year postgraduate studies at leading UK universities. Jointly funded by the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, the British Council, and participating universities, the scholarship aims to foster academic excellence and cultural exchange. For the 2025-26 academic year, over 200 scholarships are available across more than 70 universities in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, each providing £10,000 towards tuition fees for a wide range of subjects.
GREAT Scholars not only benefit financially but also join a vibrant community of international students, with opportunities to attend exclusive welcome and networking events. The program encourages recipients to act as ambassadors for UK higher education, sharing their experiences and building lasting connections with the UK and their host institutions. Application deadlines vary by university, but many fall between April and June.
Eligibility :
Be a passport holder and resident of one of the eligible countries: Bangladesh, China (mainland only), Egypt, France, Ghana, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam
Have an undergraduate degree that enables entry to a UK postgraduate program
Meet the academic and English language requirements of your chosen UK university
Apply for a one-year postgraduate taught course
Be classified as an international or EU fee-paying student
Not receive substantial funding from other sources
