The Youth Climate Innovation Lab is an exciting initiative that empowers young people to take The YCI Programme offers a comprehensive journey for young innovators looking to make a difference in tackling climate change through innovative solutions. The program spans four key regions: Asia and the Pacific, Africa, Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC), and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The fully virtual initiative supports participants at every stage, from idea development to scaling impactful climate technologies in developing countries.


Participants in the YCI Programme will gain access to mentorship, resources, and networks designed to turn their innovative ideas into viable, scalable solutions. This program is perfect for aspiring entrepreneurs, climate advocates, and innovators who are passionate about climate action and eager to make a global impact.


Youth from all over the world who are passionate about climate action and sustainability are encouraged to apply. Participants will have the chance to contribute meaningfully to global efforts against climate change, while also enhancing their leadership skills and gaining valuable experience in environmental innovation.

Eligibility :
  • Education/Experience: At least a Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of work experience and/or significant community engagement.

  • Age: Between 18 and 35 years old.

  • Geography: Applicants must come from Africa, MENA, Latin America & the Caribbean, or Asia-Pacific regions.

  • Focus Areas: Interest or experience in water-energy-food nexus, mobility, energy systems, buildings, or industry.

  • Passion and Drive: Applicants must have a strong commitment to climate action and a desire to develop or enhance a climate-focused entrepreneurial idea.

Required documents :
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV): A detailed resume that outlines your education, work experience, community engagement, and any relevant climate action or entrepreneurial efforts.

  • Proof of Education: Copies of certificates or diplomas that confirm your highest level of education (at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent). If you are applying as a team, ensure all members' educational backgrounds are represented.

  • Work Experience Documentation (if applicable): For those applying with work experience instead of formal education, provide documentation such as reference letters or employment records proving 3 years of work experience.

  • Statement of Purpose: A brief written statement explaining why you are passionate about climate action, your interest in the YCI Programme, and how you intend to contribute or develop a climate innovation.

  • Letters of Recommendation (optional but encouraged): These could come from academic or professional references who can attest to your dedication, work ethic, and relevance to climate innovation.

  • Portfolio/Project Documents (optional): If you have prior experience working on climate-related projects or entrepreneurial ventures, you may include a portfolio showcasing your work, awards, or publications relevant to climate innovation.
